The Board of St. Patrick’s Festival congratulates CEO Susan Kirby on her departure to a new role

The Board of St. Patrick’s Festival wishes to warmly thank Susan Kirby, the outgoing CEO of the Festival, for over 10 years of service and wish her every success as she takes up a new role as CEO of Screen Producers Ireland on January 4th, 2021.

As CEO of the Festival, Susan worked closely with the Department of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Fáilte Ireland, Dublin City Council and many government agencies to create an inclusive, award-winning, world-class festival which is recognised as a global expression of Ireland and her people and is strategically important to the national agenda.

St. Patrick’s Festival Chair, Maree Gallagher commented

“The Board and I wish to sincerely thank Susan for her service to the Festival, her legacy is a significant one and while we regret her departure, we wish her a very successful future at the helm of Screen Producers Ireland. Susan will be departing at the end of December when the core planning for Festival 2021 is completed and she will leave a strong and experienced management team to deliver a re-imagined event for March 2021."

Speaking of her departure, Susan Kirby thanked the Board, the Festival team and many festival partners:

“I am distinctly proud to have built and led an outstanding team, with the support of a visionary board. It will always be an enormous source of pride to me that I led the transformation of the national festival. I will always be a champion of the Festival and its importance to Ireland culturally, socially and economically. As my tenure of 10 years draws to a close, I wish to thank everyone involved in the Festival and wish them every success into the future.”
